Grubbing & Clearing

Grubbing and Clearing are more traditional land clearing methods, where items like vegetation, stumps, woody debris, rocks, trash, soil types and/or other undesirable objects are removed entirely - usually from both above and below the soil's surface.

Is Grubbing & Clearing Right For Your Land?

Sometimes classic land clearing methods are the best option.

If you have a project where your site preparation or development plan require for any of the following items apply, you'll likely need to grub, clear and/or bulldoze:
  • Removal of the woody debris (stumps and roots) below the soil surface, as well as above.
  • Future building, house, shop, foundation, etc.
  • Future driveway, roadway or parking area.
  • Future agricultural land that needs to be rototilled or cultivated, but currently has items like stumps or other large woody debris mixed in. Sometimes it makes sense to forestry mulch these sites before grubbing and clearing.

Our Grubbing & Clearing Experience

Picture
Grubbing and Clearing is performed using heavy machinery like an excavator, and depending on the final grading, drainage and slopes desired in your project area, soil may need to be moved around your site with a bulldozer. Soils or materials may also need to be trucked out of or onto your site.
Since 2006, Southern Exposure has been providing Grubbing and Clearing services for the Southern Kenai Peninsula. We assist our clients by either developing a site plan or reviewing those provided by a designer, architect or engineer.
Pro-Tip: Not sure if your site requires the level of clearing or disturbance associated with Grubbing, Clearing and Bulldozing? Every site is different. Consider the faster and often more economical land clearing option that is forestry mulching.
